We encourage you to read all of the following documentation concerning construction methods so that you may make an informed purchase decision.

If you are shopping for log furniture make sure that you read all of the fine print that is put on web sites. Unfortunately, some important information can be hard to find. How is the furniture constructed? Is the furniture sanded and finished? We would like to answer those questions outright to avoid any confusion.

A major emphasis in our work is to make furniture as natural as possible using very few machining methods. After all, that is what distinguishes "log furniture" from "contemporary furniture." If you look closely at our products you'll see that we don't cut corners to speed up the process. For example:

We rarely, if ever use screws in our furniture unless it is absolutely necessary. A true tenon is the strongest joint possible. Screws break easily, and most importantly, SCREWS SQUEEK! No one wants a noisy bed. Our tenoned logs are glued and permanently hammered into place. These joints don't give. Also, beware of purchasing ready-to-assemble log furniture. The assembly process of logs is very precise and time consuming. In order to get the job done correctly, special tools are needed.

The tenon is an important part of the log and may resemble several different shapes depending on how they are made. We consider some of them just plain ugly. The quickest way to cut a tenon is also the most unattractive. See Pictures below. Our method takes a little longer but is much more appealing.

Finally, as mentioned on the About Us page, we perform every part of the process ourselves, including the finish. Some companies don't finish their products, then sell them for the same price as a complete piece of furniture. Sanding and finishing log furniture takes time, expertise, and equipment, not to mention the cost of the finish. Unfinished wood will dis-color quickly, and has no protection from the elements. To us, it doesn't make much sense to sell something that is not complete. All of our furniture is completely finished with high quality products, and ready for your use.

Thank You, and please shop our web page with confidence.
